Nelson Otuoma

Nelson Juma Otwoma - Secretary
Nelson Otwoma is a Social Scientist with over 20 years’ experience in the public sector, mainly working with civil society and affected communities.
As the Director of NEPHAK, he works to provide professional, accountable, committed and strategic leadership for the communities’ voice and visibility.
Nelson has deep understanding of the health programming policies and procedures as well as in-depth knowledge in public health systems, community systems strengthening. He has hands-on experience in the M&E systems, including Community-led Monitoring. He sits in a number of national platforms, including TWGs, COEs and Task Forces put in place by the Ministry of health to improve community health.
He is the link between the NEPHAK Board and the management and also responsible for fostering partnership and relationships.
Jectone Odhiambo Chilo

JECTONE CHILO is a practicing Counsellor Psychologist, registered with Kenya Counselor and Psychologist Board.
Chilo has an extensive management spanning over 20years in production and service delivery earned at Consolidated MSA Ltd, United (EA) Ltd and COPE- Kenya. Chilo is the current Coordinator of MOPESUN, (Mombasa PLHIV Support Network) county network, as well as working with AHF- Kenya in coast region, where my mobilizing, advocating and empowering prowess has led to improvement visibility and meaningful involvement of people living with and affected by HIV.
I have vast knowledge of health policies and guidelines having been hands on throughout my service. I also represent PLHIV community in most county TWGS As the chair I intend to lead with purpose and communicate with integrity.
My intent will reflect real value, build visibility, credibility and encourage commitment at all levels in NEPHAK.

Pamela Andeyo Kibunja

Pamela Andeyo Kibunja - Treasurer
Ms. Pamela Kibunja is a distinguished Strategic Health Researcher and governance expert with over two decades of experience championing community-centered health systems.
Her career spans strategic leadership in health financing, service delivery, and institutional governance, with a strong focus on empowering affected communities and strengthening health systems. She holds an MBA in Strategic Management, a BBA in Human Resources, and a specialized certificate in Health Financing and Budgets.
Currently pursuing her PhD, Ms. Kibunja’s research centers on enhancing Quality Service Delivery at the Kenyatta National Hospital Comprehensive Care Centre (KNH CCC), reflecting her commitment to evidence-based policy and practice.
Ms. Kibunja serves as the National Treasurer of the NEPHAK Board, where she oversees financial compliance, risk management, and asset stewardship in alignment with national finance and procurement protocols.
Her governance acumen is further demonstrated through her role as Secretary of YAPBEC, a NEPHAK network member. She is a respected voice on global, regional, and national platforms, including her active membership in the Kenya Coordinating Mechanism (KCM) and the National Technical Working Group on Community Systems Strengthening (CSS). Ms. Kibunja’s leadership is defined by her strategic foresight, financial integrity, and unwavering dedication to inclusive health advocacy.
Abner Marita Mogire - Member
Abner Marita Mogire - Member
Abner Mariita Mogire is the co-opted NEPHAK Board retained from the previous Board to ensure there is continuity and is a long term AIDS and health advocate.
He holds a Diploma in Applied Statistics from the Technical University of Kenya, has done several courses related to HIV/AIDs and is an HIV/AIDS activist. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Community of People Fighting HIV/AIDS in Kenya (COPEFA), a CBO which is a member of NEPHAK and through which he sits in the NEPHAK Board.
Mogire sits in various other county platforms in Nairobi county to represent People Living with HIV. He has been a NEPHAK Board member (2009 – 2014) as Board member (2014 – 2017) Vice Chair and (2022 – 2024) NEPHAK Board Chair.
He has also previously served as the chair of the Nairobi Liquor Board committee (2014 – 2016) & (2017-2019).
Beatrice Okioga - Member
Beatrice Okioga - Member
Beatrice Okioga is psychological counselor and a board member of NEPHAK. She is an ambassador of hope, an agent of change and TB champion. She is passionate and resilience advocate for the dignity and health of PLHIV.
Having tested HIV positive Beatrice transformed a personal journey of stigma and resilience into a mission to empower others and bringing a lasting change communities affected, infected and at risk of HIV.
She is the founder Nyamira PLHIV Network and she has played a pivotal role in raising awareness, improving access to treatment. she joined NEPHAK the year 2007 and has always served as a representative of PLHIV in county and constituency levels.
As board member her mandate is to represent the interests, priorities and rights of PLHIV in all board decisions, promote meaningful involvement of PLHIV across all levels of the organization.
Ensure that the organization’s remains community led and people centred. Does oversight of the organization programs and ensures the network adheres to the good governance, transparency and accountability principles
Maryanne Chebet - Member
Maryanne Chebet - Member
Maryanne Chebet is a youth leader and board member of NEPHAK, where she represents young people living with HIV.
With lived experience and a strong background in youth advocacy, Maryanne brings strategic insight to advancing inclusive, youth-led HIV responses. She is dedicated to promoting meaningful youth engagement in policy development, health systems, and community-led initiatives.
Maryanne also serves on the board of a youth-led organization in Kenya, supporting programs focused on sexual and reproductive health, rights, and social equity. Her work is rooted in a vision of dignity, resilience, and justice for young people living with HIV.
